Web Design and Our Process

We are ready to develop a website that you can be proud of and that suits your needs, whether it is a small one-page project, a dynamic portal site, or a large scale site for your growing business.

Our Web Design Process. How does it work?



Below describes the general steps of how we start and proceed with the design your website.



Project Contract

Contract:


A web design contract outlining the scope of the project and the payment schedule will be required. This is just sound business practice and protection for both our customers and ourselves. This contract will be sent to you via email as a .doc file and you will be asked read it, fill it out, sign and e-mail the original copy back to us. We will then sign the original and email, fax, or mail you a final, executed copy for your records.

Invoice and Payment

Payment:


In order for us to begin your project, we require 50% down with the remaining 50% due upon completion of your website. Your website will not “go live” until final payment has been received. You may pay securely online via Paypal using your Visa or Master Card or you may mail a check or money order. The payment method will be discussed and clearly stated in the contract sent to you.

Getting Started:


Upon receipt of your deposit and signed contract , the manager in charge of your project will email you, confirming receipt of your deposit, along with their contact information and will likely ask you some questions about your project.

Work will commence once payment and contract has been received.

IMPORTANT

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING

You will need to supply all text and/or product/business information to be included on your site, as well as other material such as company logo, photos, etc. If you have a basic framework for the site prepared, that would also be helpful. In most cases, we would simply need to know what pages you intend to have (Home, About Us, Contact, Product Pages, etc) and what text and functionality you wish to offer on each page.

It is also important to note that once we receive your deposit and signed contract, we will begin serious work on your project. If you decide to "pull-the-plug" on the project for any reason, the deposit is non-refundable to cover the cost of the work already performed. This is noted here and will be clearly stated in the contract.
For E-Commerce(shopping cart) sites, we will need you to supply an organized and detailed listing of the following:

  • Product Name
  • Product Number (if applicable)
  • Product Description with options (if any – size, color, etc)
  • Price breakdown (price per item and price discounts for multiple items, if applicable)
  • Shipping and Handling rates and shipping preferences
  • Product Images corresponding with the product item

If you have any websites you would like us to refer to as a guide when designing your site or if you have any preference as to colors, style, etc., please supply this information as well.

Typically, all of the above information should be supplied prior to us getting started. We can begin on the basic layout and structure of the site but without the above information, we will not be able to move forward with the project and the completion date may be delayed.

In most cases, you will be provided with 3 one-page sample layouts within 5-7 business days. After you have decided which layout you would like to go with and we have made any requested alterations on the chosen design, the necessary development to make your site function will begin, provided you have supplied all the necessary content as listed above.

From this point, the whole design process should take approximately 2-4 weeks providing you have supplied the required content as stated above. We will be in periodic contact during this time supplying links for you to review the progress and offer feedback.

In our years of web design experience, getting the necessary content to begin and complete the project has proven to be the greatest challenge. This is why we emphasize the need for all the required content to begin and complete your project.


Completion Of Project

Completing The Project:


After the site has been completed and you have confirmed that everything meets your satisfaction, the final payment will need to be submitted. Final payment may be made by using one of the methods stated in the “Payment” section above.

After final payment is received, we will upload all necessary files to the hosting server and perform the necessary tests to confirm that everything is working properly. Once confirmed as working properly, we will complete any basic site optimization which needs to be done for SEO purposes (the search engines), such as title tags, meta tags, keyword optimizing, sitemap, etc.

Please note that we have no control over when these search engines index your site or where they will place it within the search engine rankings. Our quote includes only basic optimization and submission.

Also note that if you desire us to maintain and update your site for you, there will be a small monthly fee in addition to the regular hosting fee, both of which will be billed annually.
